Indusry standard for applying update feature to program written in Matlab?

Is there a standard for adding an update feature to a program created with Matlab? I currently have one in place that "works" but it could be better. Currently it recognizes when there is an update available and applies the update by replacing the affected files, deleting the deleted files, and moving the files that were moved to a new location.
I have also added a Revert feature that allows the user to target an older version of the software to revert back to. This is cool but with each additional cool update/revert feature added, the frailer the framework becomes.
