How to send data through raspberrypi and arduino serial connection.

I will send data using arduino and raspberrypi serial connection.
Raspberrypi to arduino connection is shown on figure. For checking that arduino reads data from matlab, arduino is connected to PC through USB serial port. Matlab and arduino program was written,I will put matlab and arduino program.
I tried running the program, but Arduino won't recognize data. I don't know that arduino or matlab is correct or connecton is correct. If anyone know how to solve this problem, please tell me.
