There is not many people familiar with the Simulator but only the researchers involved with its development and some PhDs that use it for their thesis.
I will suggest you to use the book available on line at:
Then follow the exercises provided and when you find yourself stuck with some implementation, then try to contact them by mail.
Normally they will answer you with a reasonable time frame.
