After generating entities with randomly assigned gender attributes, male or female, I am now trying to separate the two groups into a "male" group and a "female" group using an entity output switch in sim events. How do I get the output switch to recognize "male" and "female" to divide the groups?

Have you had a look at "findgroups".

Use "splitapply" to further apply a function on the split data
