Can you please help me to do a text to speech sythesiser using concatenative synthesis in matlab

I want to create a text to speech conversion system using concatenative synthesis. My plan is to generate a Unicode for each letter in keyboard and call the corresponding wav files from database. Is it possible??? Could you please guide me ??

That approach works very poorly for English and not well for some other languages but might be workable for Esperanto or a few other languages (perhaps Swahili)
