Best way to create an information display that is printable? (Other than plotting)

I am attempting to create a msgbox() like window that has the option to print, like a figure does. The solution I currently have is to just create a plot with the information I want to display plotted using text(). Although this works, I'd like to know if there is a more streamlined/elegant way of doing so.
