I'm currently working on phased array toolbox to implement beamforming. But already inbuilt functions exist. Now, how to know the matlab code for function definitions of them, so that I can modify and use for my desired application?

There are two ways to see the code for built-in functions:

get a job with Mathworks; or
buy Mathworks, which is a privately owned company which is not being offered for sale. But like I always say, a $US5 million non-refundable deposit will get you a meeting in which they would at least listen to your multi-billion dollar offer to buy the company.
