How to do control valve linearization in simulink?

I am trying to simulate a valve in a thermal simscape system through a variable heat transfer component. Thus, when the input to this component is 0, there is no resistance, and when the input value is increased, it increases the heat transfer. However, with a system where more resistances are present (more components representing conductance, convective heat transfer etc.) the response to the controller output is not linear, and thus it is harder for the controller. I want to linearize the control for the valve. I have done this on paper but never on simulink and I am wondering if there is an easy way to do it that can also adapt to the system as I change it (since doing it numerically would involve changing it each time I change other aspects of the system). It can be seen here better the problem that I am facing: http://blog.opticontrols.com/archives/689
