I want to view a surface plot from the top and i used view(0,90) but still can see the plot except i rotate it. please i would like the yaxis to be vertical and the xaxis horizontal without having to rotate it. the colorbar indicates the zaxis. any ideas

starting with a value lower than zero for the y-axis fixed it.
axis([0 1000 -0.001 110 0 110])
view(0,90)
With this i didn't need to rotate the plot each time.

pcolor() is surf() viewed from the top.
