how to average multiple monthly data?

Hi all,
I've downloaded MODIS satellite monthly average data from 2003-2018 as a .nc files to get SST data. from the extracted variables, the latitude vector is 433*1, longitude is 313*1, and the SST is 433*313 (meaning the dimension of the lat*lon)
What I want is to calculate the averages of the SST, for example, all Januaries, Februaries, ...etc.
Any help would be truly appreciated.

Convert to table or timetable and use retime and/or findgroups/splitapply for these kinds of operations.
