English explanation of the predopt argument to polyconf?

Hello,
I am trying to understand the documentation for polyconf and the MATLAB explanation is not clear. It says options other than the default are available and allow you to specify other bounds. Great. But the table does not give the interval specified by the other options, instead it gives the bounded quantity. Can anyone explain what the bounds are with the other options and when one would choose to plot one option over another?
