How to overlay bar3 plots

Is there a good way to overlay two bar3 plots? I would like to plot a matrix using bar3 but then compare that to another matrix with generally larger values. I imagine overlaying a wireframe of the bar3 matrix with the larger values and having a solid color bar3 plot underlaid.

Something like this?
x = rand(1,10);
y = rand(1,10);
figure
b1 = bar3(x, 'r');
hold on;
b2 = bar3(y, 'b');
b1.FaceAlpha = 0.5;
b2.FaceAlpha = 0.5;
