GUI window Error when calling function in a function run

Hi All,
I am initializing a GUI and I am executing the "portfolio" function from Trading Toolbox but it does not give any result( runs for ever) and I need to terminate it. When I am runing the portfolio function outside the GUI function it returns results.
Can you please help me find the error and what I am doing wrong?
function trading
% GUI window
clc;
clear all;
close all;
GUI = [];
ib = ibtws('',7497);
account='DU2154444';
initGUI();
% Display the GUI window
function initGUI()
% Initialize some data
GUI.cycle = 0;
GUI.lastPortfolio = [];
GUI.trading = false;
portfolioData = portfolio(ib,account)
end
end
