is it possible to combine two matfiles ?

supposes i have 2 matfile :
matfile 1 consits of :
  1. block 1
  2. block 2
matfile 2 consits of :
  1. block 2
  2. block 3
now i want to create a resultant matlab file contains union of both matfiles . i.e.,
resultant matfile consists of :
  1. block 1
  2. block 2
  3. block 3
