MATLAB 7.5 doesn't calculate the whole operation

Hello! I'm working with MATLAB 7.5 and, in some occasions, when I make operations like sin(9283471987573/982489578238954) and press enter, it only writes it, but not the solution. How can I avoid it?
Sorry if I made some grammatical mistake, english is not my first language.

If you are using the symbolic toolbox, use vpa() to evaluate it as decimal.
If the symbolic expression does not contain any symbols, then you can use double() to convert it to a double precision number.

format long
in your command window.
