ancestor changed listener possible?

Is it possible to recognize whether an ancestor of a hgcomponent ( uipanel, uicontrol...) changed?

I do not mean its direct parent but somewhere up the hirarchy lets say the figure.

I know the UDD undocumented listeners for direct parents and children but they do not fit my needs in this case.
