Running mac catalina.
Get this error when trying to install Arduino Support from MATLAB add on.
Failed to install the third-party software:
  • Arduino software
This is required by:
  • MATLAB Support Package for Arduino Hardware

My initial analysis indicates this crash was the result of a known issue. You can refer to the following question for resolution steps.

Also, since I am unaware of the Matlab version you are using, MATLAB is compatible with macOS Catalina (10.15) from release R2019b onwards. You can refer to the following question for further clarification.
