ifft2 not returning expected plots

To start with, I am trying to solve the Poisson Equation using fft2 and ifft2. I am starting with the solution,
with a=1, taking the Laplacian of u(x,y) to get
and then trying to use the fft2 and ifft2 functions to work back to u(x,y). A more in-depth description of the problem and process can be found in the top answer found here. The problem comes at the 4th step in the linked answer when I take ifft2. The shape of the plot that I obtain for u(x,y) is wrong and the values are way too large. I will post my code below so that anyone can reproduce the problem as well as the plots of what I have obtained in the steps leading up to the problem.

I'm expecting my plot for figure 3 to match my plot for figure 1 in both shape and values. What I keep getting instead is a 3D parabola with values which are way too large and I am not certain as to why this is the case. I have been hung up on this for at least a month now and don't understand what I could be doing wrong whether it be in my methodology or if I am making a mistake somewhere in the code.
One thing I have noted is that if I change p and q to be centered at 0 such that:
p = meshgrid(-P/2:dp:P/2,-P/2:dp:P/2);
q = transpose(meshgrid(-Q/2:dq:Q/2,-Q/2:dq:Q/2));
I get a result for figure 3 that is much closer to figure 1 though I do not know why this is the case. Regardless, I cannot seem to figure out what is wrong with my approach whether it be in the methodology or in my usage of the functions.
