Correlation between 2 images( shifting or turning images).

Have an experiment to do correlation between two same images(1st a reference image and 2nd one is the same image, but rotated by an angle). A program in matlab for doing this task would greatly help me.

You can try it, but it won't work, but go ahead. Cross correlation does not always tell you what the translation or location is for an image. Just see attached demo. It's a myth - even propagated by the xcorr2() help.
