This study introduces the Modified Rat Swarm Optimizer (MRSO), designed to improve the balance between exploration and exploitation in the Rat Swarm Optimizer (RSO). The MRSO's key innovations are aimed at enhancing search efficiency and robustness, making it particularly suitable for tackling complex optimization tasks, including real-world engineering problems. Extensive testing was conducted using classical benchmark functions and CEC 2019 test function.
