Upgrading to MATLAB R2025a changes the favorite-commands storage from XML to JSON, breaking backward compatibility. importFavoriteCommands2NewMATLAB automates the migration of your existing favorites. It detects installations from previsous versions, and convert previsous XML to the new JSON schema, while preserving your categories (folders) and default icons.
Notes:
  • The new versions does not seems to allow cusom icons - All cusom icons are modified to default icon.
  • Order of catagories is not preserved.
  • Tested on R2019a and later.
