savefig

When I'm doing data analysis in Matlab I often want to quickly save a copy of the figure I'm looking at. This function allows me to do that with minimal distraction, so I can concentrate on what I'm actually doing. I can then browse through the various figures I've saved later on, and select a few for printing or including in a report/presentation/whatever.

As this function automatically saves files in subdirectories grouped by date, this makes it easy to look back at figures I've made in the past and print them again/modify the .fig file etc.
