Fuzzy logic control of electric vehicle
The fuzzy logic controller (FLC) has been developed for the power management of the battery-ultracapacitor energy storage for an urban battery electric vehicle (EV). The justification of energy storage hybridization for EV has been presented in http://www.degruyter.com/view/j/bpasts.2013.61.issue-2/bpasts-2013-0030/bpasts-2013-0030.xml and http://pe.org.pl/articles/2012/4b/29.pdf. Ultracapacitors serve as a high-power auxiliary storage, so the battery should cover average power demand. A reduction of battery power pulses extends the battery lifetime and improves supply system efficiency.
Flexibility and robustness offered by the FLC give an easy accessible method to provide a power management algorithm. This model demonstrates that information on a topography of the route can be used to better adjust ultracapacitors state of charge and efficient battery power impulses reduction.
