WHISIT

There are several programs for the analysis of foci and their location in bacteria. But there is basically none that is addressing the issue of the ratio of signal between cytosol and membrane and show the signal profile along the cell width in bacteria. WHISIT tries to address such issues. It is a small post analysis program that works with both microbeTracker and Oufti.
Either of the two programs can be used for image segmentation and identification of cell's borders. WHISIT then uses the output files of either program and defines the membrane and cytosol compartments to measure several attributes of the fluorescence signal within these compartments.
