Select a system from the workspace to analyze (can also use a default 2nd order system, or a random 2x2 system). Change the gains to the PID controller and press the update button to immediately see the effect on the system. Can plot general analysis plots for the system including:
- Step
- Impulse
- Initial Conditions
- Ramp
- Quadratic
- SIne Wave
- Custom Reference
- Root Locus
- Bode
Custom stop times can be input for response plots, along with only plotting the error for the response following conditions. Indicator under the update button determines stability of the controlled system using the poles of the closed loop system.
Good learning/teaching tool to learn how to tune PID controllers by trial and error or methods such as Ziegler–Nichols.
