As of Jan 2021, the proposed solution is working well to access Microsoft Azure SQL Database from MATLAB. Hopefully, this article helps you. We will begin with setting up Azure SQL Database in Microsoft Azure and later connect to Microsoft SQL database using Database Toolbox.
(1) Setting Up Microsoft Azure SQL Database
You may try Azure Directory Authentication if this part of your plan.
(2) Connect Microsoft Azure SQL Database from MATLAB using Database Toolbox
With SQL Authentication
(a) Connect from Database Explorer
(b) Connect from MATLAB programming
With Active Directory Username and Password
