Project-Based Learning: Students learn how to better use sciences by programming Rover robots
Students put into practice the scientific concepts taught in high school and universities (control system, image processing, rapid prototyping…) during the Mission on Mars Robot challenge, by programming, using MATLAB® and Simulink®, a Rover robot based on low cost hardware (Arduino and Raspberry Pi). This innovative approach helps make learning more fun and practical sciences.
The full technical content used for this competition is available on MATLAB Central. It will allow you to introduce young people to science, using the Rover robot as a medium of instruction and learning. In this downloadable kit, you will find:
- The objectives and requirements of the mission of the Rover robot
- The complete Simulink model of the behavior of the robot and its environment
- A construction guide of the real prototype of the robot:
- 3D model
- List of electronic components such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi
