How to Allocate Requirements to Architectural Elements with System Composer

Rick Boldt, MathWorks

With Simulink Requirements™, allocate requirements from external sources to architecture elements. Visualize and trace requirements from architectural elements.

With the requirements perspective you can see the requirements and architecture together allowing requirements allocation via drag and drop.

The requirements perspective has a browser to navigate the requirements hierarchy. Requirements can be imported from external tools or authored directly in the requirements browser.

The requirements property inspector shows more details about the requirement including its description and links to the architecture elements it has been allocated to.

In the diagram annotations can be displayed providing details about the requirement in the design for better understanding.

It is very easy to add links between a requirement and a component. All you need to do is drag and drop the requirement, in this case we are linking the carry capacity to the payload component. Notice the badge appears indicating a requirement has been linked to this element.

This is how you allocate requirements to architecture elements.
