Classroom-Ready Projects with the New MATLAB and Simulink Based Arduino Engineering Kit

This webinar will discuss how the Arduino Engineering Kit provides a turnkey solution that can be integrated into your engineering classroom. The kit includes an Arduino® MKR1000, custom-designed shields, and all the other components necessary for building three projects:
A self-balancing motorcycle that maneuvers itself on varying terrain and remains upright using a flywheel for balance
A mobile rover that navigates between reference points and moves objects with its forklift
A drawing robot that takes a reference drawing and duplicates it on a whiteboard
The kit includes access to online learning materials that guide students through the process of programming each project, teaching important engineering concepts along the way. Instructors can incorporate the projects in their courses and extend or customize the learning materials to suit their needs.
About the Presenters
Dan Doherty works as a partner manager at MathWorks, focusing on MATLAB® and Simulink® hardware programming. Prior to working as partner manager, Dan was a product manager at MathWorks for more than five years, focusing on MATLAB data analysis products. Dan received a B.S.E. and M.S.E. in mechanical engineering from the University of New Hampshire, where his research focused on prediction of cutting forces during CNC machining.
Madhu Govindarajan has been working in technical marketing at MathWorks for the past couple of years and focuses on hardware connectivity with MATLAB and Simulink. Prior to joining MathWorks, Madhu interned with Honda R&D Americas while working towards his master’s degree in mechanical engineering at Ohio State University.
