The pre6GPhysicalChannelConfig object enables you to create physical channel configuration parameters for 6G research and prototyping. The object defines scrambling, symbol modulation, layer mapping, and resource element (RE) mapping without 5G-specific restrictions.

Description

ch = pre6GPhysicalChannelConfig creates a physical channel configuration object with default properties.

ch = pre6GPhysicalChannelConfig(PropertyName=Value) specifies properties using one or more name-value arguments. For example, Modulation="4096QAM" specifies 4096-QAM modulation. Unspecified properties take their default values.

Physical resource block (PRB) allocation of the physical channel, specified as a vector of nonnegative integers.

Data Types: double

Reserved RE indices, specified as a vector of nonnegative integers. This property specifies RE indices (0-based) that are unavailable for data transmission due to reference signals being present in a particular slot.

Number of transmission layers, specified as a positive integer.

Modulation scheme, specified as 'BPSK', 'pi/2-BPSK', 'QPSK', '16QAM', '64QAM', '256QAM', '1024QAM', '4096QAM', 'Custom', or a string scalar. This modulation scheme specifies the modulation type of the codeword and the number of bits to use per modulation symbol. The number of bits per symbol is equal to the Qm read-only property.

To use a custom modulation scheme, specify this property as 'Custom' and then specify the Constellation property as a complex vector of IQ points.

Data Types: char | string

Constellation for custom modulation, specified as a complex vector. The vector entries are the IQ points that define the signal mapping. The length of the vector must be 2N, where N is a positive integer and is equal to the number of bits per symbol. When you specify this property, the Qm takes its value from N. The order of the vector elements corresponds to the binary-coded symbol ordering, where the first bit is the most significant bit and the last bit is the least significant bit.

The default value is a reference constellation for QPSK modulation.

This property applies only when you specify the Modulation property as 'Custom'.

Complex Number Support: Yes

Scrambling sequence initialization value, specified as [] or an integer in the range [0, 231 – 1]. The pre6GPhysicalChannel function uses this value to initialize the pseudo-random binary sequence (PRBS) generator for scrambling the codeword bits. When you use the default value, [], the function initializes the PRBS generator using the NCellID property of its carrier input object.

OFDM symbol allocation of the physical channel, specified as a two-element vector of nonnegative integers. The first element of this property represents the start of symbol allocation (0-based). The second element represents the number of allocated OFDM symbols.

When you set the second element of the vector to 0, no symbol is allocated for the channel.

This property is read-only.

Modulation order, represented as a positive integer. The modulation order is the number of bits per modulation symbol. This terminology is in accordance with 3GPP.

Create a pre-6G carrier configuration object with default parameters.

Create a reference signal configuration object. Specify physical resource blocks 10–19.

rs = pre6GReferenceSignalConfig(PRBSet=10:19);

Get 1-based reference signal indices for the reference signal configuration. 

rsInd = pre6GReferenceSignalIndices(carrier,rs);

Create a data channel configuration object. Specify the same physical resource blocks as before. Use the reference signal indices as reserved REs in the data channel. You must subtract 1 because the reserved REs are 0-based in accordance with 5G.

Get 0-based data indices for the physical channel configuration.
