External Angular Velocity Source (AB)

Ideal source of mechanical energy that generates angular velocity proportional to the input signal

Since R2026a

  • External Angular Velocity Source (AB) block

Libraries:
Simscape / Foundation Library / Rotational / Sources

Description

The External Angular Velocity Source (AB) block represents an ideal external angular velocity source that maintains a specified angular velocity regardless of the load at the connected port.

Port R is an angle-based rotational conserving port. Specify the angular velocity at physical signal port S. A positive signal at port S applies a positive angular velocity on the network at port R.

The block logs the variable t, which represents the torque applied at port R to generate the specified velocity. A positive torque corresponds to acceleration in the positive direction. For more information, see Data Logging.
