Check usage of Lookup Table blocks

R2026b

mathworks.earlydetection.LookUpTableUsage

Since R2026b

Dependencies: Simulink® Check™

Usage: General Modeling

Description

Use this check to identify inconsistent data type usage and deprecated blocks in lookup table blocks.

Elements under review:

This check runs in two phases:

  • Pre-compile — Detects configuration issues, and usage of deprecated lookup table blocks.

  • Post-compile — Detects issues in resolved data types after compilation.

Check Parameters

Use the Model Advisor Configuration Editor to define the scope of the analysis by specifying the input parameters.

ParameterDescription
Follow links

Specify whether to include content of library-linked blocks in the analysis.

on (default) | off

Look under masks

Specify whether to include masked model elements in the analysis.

all (default) | graphical | none | functional

  • all — Check analysis includes all masked model elements.

  • graphical — Check analysis includes only the graphical masked model elements.

  • none — Check analysis excludes masked model elements.

  • functional — Check analysis includes only the functional masked model elements.

Recommended Actions and Results

Review the violations that are flagged by the check and the recommended action for fixing the issue. After applying the changes, save the model and rerun the check analysis.

Condition Recommended Action
The n-D Lookup Table or Prelookup blocks contain inconsistent data types between the Input and Breakpoint.Consider using the same data type for both the Input and Breakpoint. Set Breakpoint data type to Inherit: Same as corresponding input or specify a data type that matches the Input data type.
The n-D Lookup Table or Interpolation Using Prelookup blocks contain inconsistent data types between the Table data, Output, and Intermediate results.Consider using the same data type for the Table data, Output, and Intermediate results.
Deprecated lookup table blocks such as 1-D Lookup Table, 2-D Lookup Table, and Lookup Table Dynamic are present in the model.Consider replacing the deprecated blocks with n-D Lookup Table, Prelookup, or Interpolation Using Prelookup blocks.

Capabilities and Limitations

  • Allows exclusions

  • Supports edit-time checking
