Exception 0xc0000005 in libmx.dll from matPutVariable call

I have multiple threads writing to multiple .mat files from a C++ program. I occassionally see exception 0xc0000005 raised in libmx.dll from a matPutVariable call. I am running R2012a. I ran across your response to 'Exception 0xc0000005 in libmx.dll during runtime of deployed shared library' and was wondering if I could be seeing the same thing. Is the fix the same too?
