User-defined (push button) audio recording time

I am trying to record an audio file that is user-defined. The audio will start recording as the user pressed the push button available and stops as he/she pressed the push button again.
Now I do not know how to do this. I only how to record a wavfile that has a defined time.
Please help. Thanks.
