Projecting geographic data grid to utm data grid

Hello,
I have a geographic referenced grid (WGS84) of digital elevation values in degrees. I need to project this grid into its respective utm zone coordinates with a 30 meter cellsize. I have had trouble with this workflow, especially the function mfwdtran function.
Can anyone recommend steps to take. There are no matlab examples, only how to un-project a DEM data grid to geographic coordinates.
