Looking for a mechanical or magnetic pick-up tool that is controllable with Simulink/Matlab.

I am looking for a small pickup tool (gripper/magnet) that can be controlled via usb with simulink or at least matlab. It should also be small enough so that I can mount it onto a robot. It should be able to lift at leat 10g, preferably 100g+; simple and not too expensive.
I am asking in this forum, because most devices I found so far are either too expensive or not compatible with simulink.
Is there any pre-programmed simulink/ matlab code that I might could use to build my own simple pickup device?

You can try the Lego Mindstorms NXT projects through the file exchange.
Even with these, you are going to have to roll up your sleeves on this one if you do not want to fork over $$ for prepackaged solutions.
