I would like to know whether Simulink coder(formerly called Real time workshop) can be separtely purchased or not. I want to use only Simulink coder and not entire Matlab software. Please share the information that you have regarding this.

For Simulink Coder, you need MATLAB, MATLAB Coder and Simulink (unless you already have those, in which case you can add Simulink Coder to your existing license, provided it is in maintenance)

No. To use Simulink Coder, you need Simulink, which requires MATLAB. Simulink Coder also requires MATLAB Coder.

Also, the license terms do not permit you to build an executable to "substantially replace" the need to have a license.

While Arnaud's answer is correct, I was wondering why one would like to do that at all. I can think of two scenarios:
1. You have multiple users working with Simulink, but only occasionally have the need to generate code. In this case, it depends on a couple of factors within your company what the best way is to provide this capability to all those users. But this is not technical information (this is a technical forum). Please see your MathWorks Sales Representative for that.
2. You plan to create code for other people's Simulink models. Also this leads to a non-technical topic, the license agreement.

I see the point WRT Simulink and MATLAB, but not with the Simulink Coder. But it is good you bring this up, as other users will find it applicable for their situation.
