I have a script

x = figure;

imshow(image1); hold on;

plot(1:256); hold on; % Scaled to match image size

drawnow;

saveas(x, 'C:\ImagesFromAnalysis\fig9F.eps','epsc');

I get both the image and plot as I want them on the screen, but only the image displayed within the eps file.

At the moment, I can get by cutting and pasting a screen shot into the draft document, but will need the actually eps file later.

I never use saveas() - I've learned not to, from countless people like you saying it doesn't work. Try the FAQ http://matlab.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ#How_do_I_save_my_figure.2C_axes.2C_or_image.3F_I.27m_having_trouble_with_the_built_in_MATLAB_functions.
