Can a gui be used passing input parameters and without output parameters?

I have my gui written

function varargout = gui3(actualv, Lsoftv, EV1, EV2,I1)

I want to know whether the gui is working coz i get an error saying:

Undefined variable varargin.
Error in gui3 (line 42)
    gui_mainfcn(gui_State, varargin{:});
