I am trying to divide an image with plane background into sub images based upon their background and non background levels and i equalised sub images individually and combined all equalised sub images to get output .how can i do it? pls help me

i have divided an image into background and non background sub images and i have to combine those sub images.How can i combine those sub images? please any one can help me (all sub images are different dimensions)

To stitch together left and right
image3 = [leftImage, rightImage]; % Use comma
To stitch together top and bottom;
image3 = [topImage; bottomImage]; % Use semicolon
