How to clean binary image borders?

Hi everybody, I have a grayscale RECTAGULAR image. I changed it in black and white and I would like to remove some white pixels along the UPPER and LOWER borders. I used "imclearborder" but it clears ALL the borders while I want to clean just the upper and lower borders. How can I do to exclude the sides borders from the cleaning?
