MATLAB GUI for an external program

3 次查看(过去 30 天)
I have an application written in Fortran. It consists of a single executable file which takes input from a text file and produces another text file as output.
I want to know whether it's possible to write a program in matlab that will allow users to interact more easily with that program. In other words, something that can handle the input and output (e.g. plot some of the output data).
If this is possible, what is the best way to do this, and where can I get some instructions on how to do it? (I checked out the "External Interfaces" section of the documentation, and there seem to be some relevant resources there, but as I'm new to Matlab, I don't know whether this is the best place to start.)
Note: I also have the Fortran code.

How would I do this if I don't have the code? I only have the executable file.

Hi,
I would compile the Fortran code into a mex file. This will allow you to call your Fortran code from MATLAB:
After that you can wrap around all kind of MATLAB code you like.
