Changing graphics using addlistener sliders

I am trying to change an image on a figure using the continuous slider. The addlistener changes the image, but a new figure is also created everytime I move the slider and then the image updates in the new figure and not the original one. I create the figure in GUIDE (just an axes, a slider bar, & a label to display the slider value.
