Editor / Command Window shift selection laggy or sluggish.

For both Matlab 2011b and 2014a in Ubuntu 14.04, using shift + arrow key to select text in Editor / Command window is sluggish. If I press arrow key for a long time while holding shift, Matlab will freeze.
Did anyone else notice this?

Yes, exactly the same problem. After half a year still no solution though. I thought this is a hardware specific problem of mine, but apparently not. The weirdest thing is at first it was in normal conditions, but after five days of usage and a reboot, it started out of nowhere.
Did you happen to solve it?

I can now say that I have found the solution on my side, absolutely by accident. It seems that the problem was in clipboard management application called glipper I have had installed all the time.
