on ubuntu sudo won't run the install file

I'm trying to install MatLab on Ubuntu 20.04.

Running

./install

in the terminal does bring out the installation window but then the installer doesn't have the permission to write on usr/local

So i need to run

sudo ./install

but this does nothing, the process doesn't do anything and doesn't stop. It doesn't even have an error message.

I've tried changing the permissions on the file with chmod but it doesn't anything.

Where could the problem come from ?

Running the following code in terminal (from ./install directory) worked for me:

xhost +SI:localuser:root
