The 'matlab.mixin' class does not support code generation.

Hi everyone,
I have a code that runs perfectly fine in matlab. But when I try to run the same function from a Simulink function block, I get the following error:
The 'matlab.mixin' class does not support code generation.
What is going on here and is there perhaps any way around this?

"You cannot generate code for classes that inherit from built-in MATLAB classes."
There is no work-around except to rewrite your code so that it does not inherit from matlab.mixin
