Adding Tool box in GUI

I am working on a barrel inspection project in which i capture images of the inside surface of a pipe.
I need to add a tool box in GUI , which can contain options like zoom in,zoom out, scrolling the image. Since it's an inspection project , and it is being done through visualising images, at times there is a need of zooming the images. So please tell me a way by which i can add the tool box set to my GUI.

How do you want the toolbox controls to be visually represented? Do you want icons for each function that are permanently present, or that are only present after selecting a menu item? Do you want the functions as menu entries? As key-presses?
