Transfer MATLAB licence to a new computer (my hard disk failed on the old computer)

2 次查看(过去 30 天)
Hi,
I have purchased and installed MATLAB Student version on my computer. However, the hard disk has failed and I am unable to use the computer. I have got a new computer and want to install MATLAB on the new computer.
Can anyone explain the steps, step by step to install and activate MATLAB on my new computer?
Since my hard disk has failed on the old computer, I am unable to uninstall/deactivate MATLAB from the old computer.
Thanks

Go ahead and install it. It should work. (You have my sympathies!)
If you have a Windows computer, before you do, go to the Windows Command Prompt (in Windows 8+, you will have to open File Explorer and search for it, then create a desktop shortcut for it) and type:
vol
at the prompt. The ‘Volume Serial Number’ is how MathWorks identifies your computer, so if you have too many installations for your license (the installer will throw an error if you do), in the main MathWorks page, log in, go to ‘My Account’ in the upper right corner, click on it, then in the middle of the page, click on ‘Manage Licenses’ in the license center. Then click on the ‘Activation and Installation’ tab and deactivate the ‘Activation Label’ that is associated with any computer you are not currently using to run MATLAB. When it is cleared, you should be able to install MATLAB on your new computer.
I hope it will just install for you without problems. I provided the other information in case it doesn’t.
