Compress Function And uncompress function

Applying the file compress.m will compress this signal by transforming it and setting all values below a threshold to zero.
The file uncompress.m inverts the transform carried out by compress.m.
Modify the files compress.m and uncompress.m to include your transform of the signal where indicated.
uncompress.m:
function x = uncompress(y)
% Compress signal using some function
% transformed signal values below threshold will be removed
%
% DO OPPPOSITE OF "COMPRESS" TRANSFORM HERE
x = SOME_INVERSE_FUNCTION(y, PARAMETERS);
%x = y;
% Done
compress.m:
function y = compress(x, threshold)
% Compress signal using some function
% transformed signal values below threshold will be removed
%
% DO SOMETHING TO THE SIGNAL HERE
fx = SOME_FUNCTION(x, PARAMETERS);
% DONE
% Keep only sufficiently large values of fx
y = fx .* (abs(fx)>=threshold);
% Done

This sounds like a homework assignment. If it is, show us the code you've written to try to solve the problem and ask a specific question about where you're having difficulty and we may be able to provide some guidance.
If you aren't sure where to start because you're not familiar with how to write MATLAB code, I suggest you start with the MATLAB Onramp tutorial (https://www.mathworks.com/support/learn-with-matlab-tutorials.html) to quickly learn the essentials of MATLAB.
If you aren't sure where to start because you're not familiar with the mathematics you'll need to solve the problem, I recommend asking your professor and/or teaching assistant for help.
