Creating Gears with Extruded Solid

The above site uses "extruded solids" to create gears, but how can I create my own gears from scratch using "extruded solids"?
I would appreciate it if you could post some examples.

Take a look a this File Exchange submission: Simscape Multibody Parts Library
https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/36536-simscape-multibody-parts-library
In there you will find a set of MATLAB functions that create extrusion data based on a few parameters. Those functions are based on the code used in the shipping example.
Below is a screenshot of a section of the code and a plot generated by that code that shows what the parameters define.
